Marie Kaldvee and Harri Lill from Estonia wins WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup I of season 2021/2022 – CONGRATULATIONS!
M.Kaldvee / H.Lill (EST) had amazing run. They reached final with no loss even more – with convincing games. In the semifinal team met K.Gaidule / A.Regža from Latvia. After 6 ends it was 7:2 in favour of Kaldvee / Lill. In the seventh Gaidule / Regža got 2 points back but it was not enough for them. In the final Kadlvee / Lill played against I.Rudzīte / A.Zentelis. The breaking point was 6th end when Kaldvee / Lill steal massive 3 points. Well deserved win with record 6:4.
After the game H.Lill said : “Thanks to the organizers of the LMDCC for setting up a WCT event at a very good time in the curling calendar. We enjoyed having the final part of our OQE preparation close to home. Big thanks to everybody who were involved in organizing, ice technicians and also to our opponents. Finally we would like to specially thank all the time keepers as it’s really important to have more and more opportunities at the tour to play with timing.”
K.Gaidule / A.Regža (LAT 2) and D.Barone / R.Gulbis (LAT 1) met in the bronze game. After 6 ends team Gaidule / Regža was in the lead with 7:3. But Barone / Gulbis took their big 3 points and steal one more to tied up the game. They need extra end to decide the winner. Gaidule / Regža took one point in the extra end and won the game with final score 8:7.
