Team Russia-2 (Team Demkina) wins first Riga Int. Curling Challenge!

Team Russia-2 (Demkina Evgeniya,Vasilyeva Uliana, Baksheeva Maria, Kuzmina Ekaterina and Coach Kolesnikova Irina) started tournament in group A and finished there with 2-1 win-loss record. In their first game they beat Team Estonia (Team Mölder) 6-4, then lost to Team Germany (Team Driendl) 2-5 and in last group game beat Latvia-2 (Team Mača) with result 9-2. This gave 3rd place in overall ranking and Team Latvia-3 (Team Blumberga) in quarterfinals. A 6-4 win in quarterfinals gave them Team Estonia (Team Mölder) as opponents in semis. Already for second time in this tournament russians were stronger. This time 7-4. In the final game Team Russia-2 had a great start and did not leave any chance to Team Sweden (Team Rudström). Final result 9-3. Congratulations!

Third place goes to Team Switzerland (Team Gisler) from Bern which in 3rd place game took early lead and held it till the end over Team Estonia (Team Mölder). Result 8-5.
